Spot on. I was raised in a mainstream church and remain a Christian at heart, but not in the way Christianity is expressed in the world. When someone introduces themselves as a Christian, I become suspicious. What is their ulterior motive? I left the church many years ago. My kids are all grown now. We moved to a very conservative area when they were young. The first question everyone asked upon meeting them was, "What church do you go to?" I told them to say they were home-churched. That seemed to suffice. I no longer call myself a Christian. I am a follower of Jesus. Thank you for sharing your struggles and your Truth.
